A Good Source of Entertainment and Payday Loan Advice

Some weeks or months the paycheck just can’t cover all the bills. Especially in a family where one member has been laid off or both still have jobs, but have had to take salary or benefit cuts to stay employed. Sometimes these things happen without warning and it is necessary to take out a payday loan or cash advance to avoid defaulting on current bills.

Of course, the difficulty with these quick loans is that they are high-risk and high interest and if not paid back according to the terms can become a mountain of debt-- leading to bad marks on a credit score, bad credit and/or bankruptcy. None of these results is what someone who takes out a payday loan to get over a rough patch wants.

Especially not someone who has already had run-ins with bad credit and is trying to work their way back into the “good” range. So, after researching on-line banks to find the best terms for a cash advance and covering everything that has to be paid or risk default, what does a person do next?

The next step is figuring out a budget to meet the new circumstances. The question that has to be asked, is what can be cut back on? It is disheartening when one’s entertainment budget has to be slashed, or go away entirely, especially if there are children involved, but it is a change that can make a huge difference in a family’s monthly expenses.

The good news is that there are many free or nearly-free alternatives for entertainment that don’t get considered as much as they once did, options that can help bring the family together as a unit. One of these is the library.

Not all that long ago, most families had a weekly trip to the library. Kids would get their first card and look forward with great excitement to finishing the books they were reading and starting new ones. Parents could be involved with and aware of their children’s interests in a way that is much more difficult when every family member is immersed in one electronic media or another, and going to three different movies on a Friday night.

Libraries have Internet access, which can be very useful in job hunting and school research, and they have these funny things called “books,” which have advice on everything from budgeting to home businesses and contain more worlds of adventure and excitement than any video store. In some areas, they are even close enough to walk to, getting everyone fresh air and exercise, while helping to stay within new means.
