Getting A Financial Services Advisor Might Brighten Your Economic Future

I was talking to my financial services advisor about ways to save money while planning for my retirement. Considering the state of the real estate and banking sectors, I was shocked to hear want he recommended.

His plan sounded simple enough, but with all of the negative news I was hearing I was concerned. His recommendations included investing in banking stock which seems to be going down. He pointed out that most of the stocks that are down are undervalued. I hesitated until I started to do my own research.

I discovered that not only are many stocks in the financial services sector undervalued, but homes are also undervalued in some markets. All of the panic has people sitting on the fence when they should be investing.

He said, “Mark my words, by next year this time people will be talking about the money they could have made when the market was down.”

My money was not going to be doing me much good with my current investment strategy, so I decided to trust him. And boy I am glad that I did. I have already seen a better rate of return than I was getting with my money market account.

As soon as more people remember that the first rule of investing is to buy low and sell high, they will realize that some stocks are as low as they can be. The bottom has come to the market. There might be a little more shake up yet to come, but the storm is passing.

To further help me, in the months to come, my financial services advisor helped me refinance my home loans. I had three home loans with three different financial institutions. We took all three of the home loans and condensed them down to one. Now two of my homes are financed together and I own the other free and clear. This helped me save almost two thousand dollars a month and helped me make seven hundred extra dollars a month with my rental that is now paid off. The extra money is going into an investment account to see more gains in my portfolio.

If you have experienced a loss due to the current state of the economy, try shopping for a new financial services advisor. A new advisor might have some better investment options or more insight into what you can do to save money.
