Boy, do I have a story for you. I was trying to buy a car last month when I was turned down by three different auto loan providers. The last one that turned me down would not tell me what was on my credit report, but did tell me that I should look into credit repair because it was bad.

I spent the whole night trying to research why my credit report was so bad; it did not make any sense. Not only have I paid all of my bills on time, I have always been careful not to put myself that far into debt. Why would the guy at the dealership tell me I needed to do some credit repair before I could ever get a loan?

The next day I sent off for a copy of my credit report and finally got it yesterday. After reading just the first page I was so mad that I stormed out of the house in hopes that a long walk would lessen the feelings of betrayal I was consumed with. It seems I have been the victim of identity theft. Not only did someone use my name and good credit standing to open several credit card accounts, but I found out today that it all stems from someone in a totally different state. The police officer I talked to said that it might be hard for them to catch whoever did it, but gave me the number of a friend that had the same problem. I just got home from having dinner with him and let me tell you I think I might have found my knight in shining armor. Not only did he know exactly what credit repair steps I need to take, he also gave me all of the addresses I needed and a sample letter that I can use to dispute all of the false information on my report. He gave me all kinds of tips on how to repair bad credit as well. I know it might take some time, but the sooner I get started the better off I will be.
